How did he become a popping pill addict? What/Who triggered the addiction?

In 1984 (I wasn't even born yet), MJ did a commercial for Pepsi. While he was dancing, something went terribly wrong with the fire props and his head was caught on fire! He was unaware of it and kept dancing until at some point, he must have realized the fire burning his scalp due to the pain. Men came running towards him and slapping his head to put out the fire. He suffered from second and third degree burnt. Poor Mr. MJ (may he rest in peace).
After that, he became addicted to painkillers for 25 years! I guess for some people, MJ's (may he rest in peace) death really hit them hard because now, they have no one to make fun of. *cough Amy Winehouse cough*
Oh, did I mention that I'm popping pills myself too because I'm a big fan of MJ (may he rest in peace) and like to follow his footstep. Joking. I take min 8 pills max 10 pills a day. I'm starting to think its not because I'm tired. I think the cause is an insect. It bit my leg when I was in NZ on the second last day. And the next day, I felt weird. The bit mark is turning purple now. I had sore throat for a week! But I'm getting better now. I feel like I can kick Ashley's spongebob all the way to France!
Anyway, all these news are just assumptions.
